We’ll cover flat- and finger-picking picking patterns and techniques, how and when to use a capo to best effect, introduce drone notes, alternating bass lines, slash chords, legato techniques and harmonics; we’ll explore varied rhythmic strumming patterns, touch on practical useful theory, tackle solo fingerstyle approaches and look at music notation and lot more.
The course is based on iconic (and some unusual) songs that will add to your repertoire and provide you with extra tools and confidence to improve your playing.
We can adapt the defined subject matter and the overall pace of the course to the group. So much so that, where appropriate and requested by the group, we can go off-piste to explore some related subjects.
Beginner+ and above acoustic guitar players.
We encourage most levels of acoustic player to come along (and we have successfully incorporated a bass player on occasion); but it’s not for the beginner. Average-and-above players who have a few songs under their belts will fine for this course.
Anyd hand-outs will be provided as we go through the weekend and after the course the following will be made available: any supplementary PDFs, audio and video recordings made, phots of the group and any flip chart diagrams.
