Our Music Corners
These one hour sessions run each Tuesday and are designed to give us the tools to make step changes in our guitar playing, finesse our technique and widen our musical knowledge.
Our WINTER SPECIAL OFFER
Buy a batch of 10 sessions at over 25% discount for each session running over the Winter months (30 November to 1 March next year).
Pick and choose your 10 sessions from our What’s On page (sessions are advertised two weeks in advance).
What’s in these sessions?
There’s always lots of choice for players with specific, general and eclectic tastes. Subjects have included: rhythm, reading music, improvising, understanding how music works and being able to read it, getting good tone, how to play a solo or rhythm within a group, developing your ear, examining the styles of some of the great guitarists across multiple genres, practising correctly and lots more. In amongst all of these key, general areas we’ll delve into scales, modes, chord progressions, strumming technique, Circle of 4th/5ths, CAGED, useful licks and riffs, phrasing and so much more.
Our tutor – Jamie McCredie
Jamie will not only cover the relevant subject matter but offer advice and guidance, share dos and don’ts and expand on approaches to learning and practising – generally, everything that has helped make him the professional guitarist and musician he is today.
New to these sessions?
If you’ve been on these sessions before then you’ll know their value and what to expect. If you’re new to them, check out the short video here to get a flavour of the variety and depth of the of the subjects covered and meet Jamie.
A bonus
If you buy the Winter Offer, any additional sessions during the offer period will be at the same discounted fee (i.e. £10 each instead of the one-off price of £12.50).
Materials:
You will receive any relevant session PDFs and a Zoom video recording of the live lesson.
Session suitability
Generally, these sessions are most suitable for intermediate level players (e.g. you can attempt a 12 bar Blues in Bb); if you have a tad of basic music knowledge then this would be a bonus but not essential. Even if you’re not sure of your level you’ll still pick lots of learning points from the sessions – they’re definitely not for beginners! For these sessions it’s always a good idea to have a pen and paper to hand as well as both an acoustic and electric guitar.
