Nuggets are essential aspects of playing, and improving on, guitar. This third series continues to look at the fundamentals for playing great guitar and making us better musicians. The series comprises
BTW, the materials for previous sessions are still available to buy on request by email. See below.
This session focuses on ‘hidden’ gems within The Circle of 5ths and how to apply them.
The Circle is a straight-forward visual tool comprising the 12 tones of Western music laid out in a specific order (moving clockwise round the Circle each successive note is perfect 5th interval apart). The notes, and their associated major and minor chords, are shown in two concentric circles. We’ll use the ‘Rule of 7‘ to dissect the Circle and look deeper into its hidden gems.
Questions you might be asking: Perfect 5th? Do I need to know this circle? What value is it to me? We’ll try to answer these questions, and more, in the session.
The Circle’s uses are practical and wide i.e. key signatures, chord progressions, underlying scales and the major and minor chords in a key, changing to other keys (modulating) as well as composing music.

The materials for Series 1 and 2 are available to buy – see below.
It’s always best to attend live rather than just buying the materials.
The sessions are inter-related and you’ll get the most value by committing to all 4 sessions (as well as receiving a 25% discounted price).
As usual, each session comes with lesson PDF (and support PDFs and backing tracks if needed) as well as Zoom recording of the live session.
Our series are about the fundamentals for playing great guitar and helping to make you a better musician. The underlying essentials are: learning the fretboard, expanding chord vocabulary, honing techniques to be able to play more cleanly and with greater ease, improving feel and timing, practising properly and taking on board ‘theory’ you can actually use.
The Materials for previous series 1 and 2 are available to purhase:

Series 2
The materials for these Series are available on request.
And maybe even some bonus materials for live attendees only.
High beginner to intermediate players. Even players who are relatively new to the guitar will get some great ideas and approaches from the sessions.
The session is approx. 60 minutes long; don’t expect to master everything during the session. The tutor will go through all the key parts, demonstrating them and discussing the associated techniques and know-how.
The real work is done by you afterwards. Armed with the materials (PDFs, backing tracks and video recording), you’ll have all the tools to work on things at your own pace.
It’s always best to attend live. Obviously there are certain occasions when players just can’t make it live – this is where our ‘just the materials‘ option comes into its own. BUT we much prefer players to be online with us. WHY?
Live keeps the whole thing real.
When you book you’ll have two options:
1. You want to join this live Zoom session.
You’ll receive the joining instructions on the day. Being live, you’ll be able to put your own questions directly to the tutor during the session. Choose option 1, This live lesson and materials.
2. Maybe you’d like to attend but can’t make it on this occasion?
You can buy the materials and receive them after the session (i.e. lesson PDF(s) and access to a Zoom recording of the live session). Choose option 2, Materials only. We often provide bonus materials for live attendance-only.
3. Buy all four sessions up-front for a 25% discount (RECOMMENDED)
As with option 1, you’ll receive the joining instructions on the day.
