Jez Cook has been active on the British jazz scene since the 1980s and is an accomplished guitarist on acoustic and electric instruments.
Initially drawn to the sounds of rock he became interested in jazz and began listening to guitarists of all eras including Django Reinhardt, Wes Montgomery, John Scofield and Pat Metheny.
A long association with Ian Cruickshank led to performances at the Django festival in France and with leading hot club players.
Since then he has appeared with Jacqui Dankworth, Alan Barnes, John Etheridge, Chris Garrick, Gary Potter, Julian Stringle, Diz Disley, Angelo Debarre and East European group Dunajska Kapelye. He has been a member of violinist Ben Holder’s various groups for well over a decade.
